This is a good month to study the life of Noah. We find that the account of Noah and the Ark, both started, and ended in this month! The name Noah means “rest” and we see that when Noah believed God and entered into the ark (rest) - God gave him a new beginning.

Hebrews 11:7 tells us that Noah was a man of faith. “By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household...”

We read in Genesis 7 that the Flood started on the 17th of Cheshvan, and ended a year later in the same month! The Ark was Noah’s protection during the flood, yet he still had to stay on the Ark for a season even AFTER the rain stopped!

We too, are protected by the Lord when we submit to Him. But if we do not correctly discern our “times & seasons” of new beginnings, we may try to rush out of the Ark without waiting for the waters to go down, the ground to be dry, or the trees to grow again!

Ask the Lord for the Issachar anointing, that you would not only know the times and seasons, but how & when to move forward as well.

Isaiah 28:17-18 “I will make justice the measuring line, and righteousness the plummet; the hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters will overflow the hiding place. Your covenant with death will be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand”

Cry out, for the rain of God’s Spirit to fall on the minds and hearts of the people in our nation...

That the Righteous judgment of the Lord would begin to flood and overflow the hiding places of the wicked!

The month of Cheshvan is linked with the tribe of Manasseh which means: to forget the pain of the past & turning something bitter into something sweet.

Psalm 30:11 says the Lord has turned our mourning into dancing and He replaced our sackcloth for garments of gladness.

Bitter may be where you came from - but it’s NOT who He called you to become!

This month is also linked with our digestion! Words can affect our ability to digest. Think about it, we even have sayings like they “swallowed their words”' or, that's a “juicy story”.

Proverbs 18:8 & 26:22 warns us that words not spoken correctly go into the inward parts of your stomach. Many times stomach problems are the result of receiving wrong words.

We need to meditate, chew, and digest the Word of the Lord day and night. They say “you are what you eat” and that is true spiritually as well!

If you have received any wrong words, ask the Lord to forgive you and to fill you with a hunger for His Truth instead!

The letter for this month is “Nun” which means fish or Messiah.

The word "Messiah" translates to “the Anointed One,” telling us that this month is not just about new beginnings, but a new anointing as well!

We see this in the olive branch that the dove brought back to the Ark. Olives are what they used to make the Anointing oil! The Lord promised never to flood the earth again.. but desires to flood our spirits with His Light & Love!

That He would flood the eyes of your heart with the light of His Truth...

And that the oil of revelation, identity and intimacy will saturate you, as you sit at the feet of the Messiah.

Did you know that Cheshvan is the only month with NO holidays? The Jewish Rabbi’s believe that since every other month has either a fast, or a feast, but this month doesn’t.. that the empty “room” in this month is intended for the Messiah to come and fill!

Have you made room in your month for the Messiah? Do you have “room” in your day, in your schedule, in your prayer time.. moments set aside, in anticipation for the Lord to come and fill?

One of the “Pey” words for this decade is visit/ visitation.

Lord, we make room for You, and we EXPECT You to come and fill us!

Allow your sense of smell to come alive this month! The first thing Noah did when he left the Ark was to build an altar to the Lord And offer a sacrifice. It says in Gen 8:20 “And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma…” 2 Cor 2:5 tells us that we are to be the fragrance of Christ.

Eph. 5:1-2 “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.”

What does my life... my prayer time smell like to the Lord?

As you spend time with the Lord, allow His fragrance to permeate your soul. Many times we think God is only dealing with spiritual issues, and we miss the connection of body, soul and spirit. This is a good month for dealing with root issues.

It is KEY this month to stand in your authority!

Luke 10:19 tells us “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
